Meet your Civil Celebrant
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tom McMillan and I’m a marriage celebrant based on Hamilton island I thought I’d take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself, how I became a marriage celebrant and my style of ceremonies. Please note: I am willing to travel to help deliver your perfect wedding day.
I have been living on the island for 3 years and am currently the manager of Activities. So, there’s a good chance you’ll see me around, running bingo, trivia, Kids discos, etc. I love my role as I get to bring people together and create fun and memorable moments. I’ve always been that person, the one who brings people together, organising events or activities to ensure everyone has a good time. Being a celebrant comes naturally to me.
In all honesty, the way I became a celebrant was through a bet with one of my best mates. If he proposed within a year, I got to officiate his wedding. I didn’t think about the bet until I attended a few other friends’ weddings and found the “official” parts were a little old school and a bit of a bore. I thought to myself, I could totally do this and make it more enjoyable and fun. To me a wedding is a celebration. It’s the time to celebrate a couples love for each other and essentially have a party in their honour. During Covid, I took the time to think about this as a career, became qualified and registered, and here we are today.
The style of ceremonies I deliver are fun, adventurous, and wholesome. I tailor these to each individual couple, as it’s a celebration of your love and your story. To me it’s meant to be fun, charismatic, at times a little embarrassing but also very wholesome and enjoyable for you and your guests. I can add any rituals or readings you like and create the ceremony just how you picture your dream wedding. Because at the end of the day it’s all about you two.
If you like what you hear, please send through an enquiry and we can begin the process of booking my services for your special day.
